Lisa Henkel, PhD (CEO of Pathways to Academic Excellence) is an Educational Consultant with expertise in Expanded Learning Time, specializing in the area of progress monitoring (cycles of continual improvement), school/district goal setting, leadership coaching/mentoring, and curriculum implementation. As a former Senior Director of School and District Support for the National Center for Time & Learning (NCTL), Lisa worked with schools in several states conducting school-based progress monitoring evaluations, helping school teams and leaders identify priorities and set action steps for goal attainment and coaching/mentoring to achieve stated goals.
Prior to joining NCTL in 2014, Lisa had over 25-years public school experience as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, curriculum coordinator, and superintendent within New York State. In addition to her experience in K-12 education, Lisa served is an adjunct professor for the SUNY system, supervising student teachers in the field and coaching the International Center for Leadership in Education/ Successful Practices Network. Lisa holds a B.S. in Elementary Education, is a certified Reading Specialist, and earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Policy Studies.
Lisa has experience working with suburban, rural, and urban school districts.
